OHIO ICES DAY OF SHARING EVENT AND CLASSES!!

Our weenkend of sharing event is scheduled for 24th and25th April of 2010... Our normal day of sharing is on Sunday 25th from 9:30am to 5pm... this event has several demonstrations from very talented cake artists.. these instructors will show you how to do certain techniques from start to finish and even answer any questions you may have... We offer raffles, door prizes,free information to take home, vendors, and a catered lunch...
If you are a member of ICES ,,our day of sharing event cost is $25.00 and for our first timers too!... If you are a non member and a repeat participant then the cost is $35.00....these fee's must be paid before the deadline date, if you register at the door or later than the early bird date the cost goes to $45.00 for non-members and $35.00 for members,, you do not have to be a member to join us on our weekend,,,but being a member gives you better discounts for classes and newsletters and special offers! Chef JingFULL Chocolate Roses and Modeling chocolate in many ways! Class 3:30-7:30pm
Discover how to make life like flowers, out of modeling chocolate,, see photo below.. In this class you will learn how to make three flowers (rose,startgazer and Cymbidium Orchids) ribbons and Loopy bow, band and swags or drapings for side design.
Cost:65.00 for members and 70.00 for non-members modeling chocolate will be provided in for the class projects.
What to bring: 1 8"round dummy ck (fondant covered any color)
Tools: foam Pad, modeling tools, pair of scissors, little offeset spatula (pointed) rolling board and 9" rolling pin non stick, round cutters and rose leaf cutter and veiner optional bring cymbidium and stargazer flower cutter (if you have them)

Julie Rosfeld-Topsy Turvy cake From start to finish this fun tilted cake is an easy way to create the topsy turvy style,.. $55.00 for members and $60.00 for non-members.. 12:00 to 2:30pm
Supplies :have two 10" round 2" high cakes leveled and filled on a 12" sturdy base board, have them leveled and filled b-4 class, bring one 10" 3"high cake wrapped in plastic,, have two 6" round 2" high cakes leveled and filled placed on a 6"round cake foiled board on both sides, then one 6" round 3" deep cake wrapped in plastic... bring enough icing to ice all cakes , if you want them covered in fondant bring that too.,, you may have fondant decorations pre-made at home to place on cakes, or if you want to create them in class bring what you need, ,tools you will need. turn table,sarated knife for carving,cup pwd sugar,tips for borders or decorations,sewing gage, 7 straws for dowels,scissors,2 wilton wooded dowels pre sharpened on one end , now if you want to just put the cakes together without decorations, and you are taking Chef Jings Modeling chocolate class, you may take your cake to that class and place those decorations on the cakes,,as you make them,,,I know this seems like a lot of supplies but if you use rubber maid containers to place them all in , you can use 1 or two tubs for all your supplies,or rubbermaid drawers on wheels, too..:)
Kim Morrison coming in September 2010: 2 hr class on gumpaste Pink and Red Poinsettia's $45.00 members $50.00 to non-members.Maximum students 20- Perfect for holiday akes, the gumpaste poinsettia can be created easily without special cutters. Included are creation of the center adn petals,wiring,assembly,and coloring.
Kim Morrison: Modern Extension & Bridgework: 3 hr class cost to members $60.00 and non-members $65.00 Maximum students 15-One of the most beautiful and classic decorating techniques,made faster and easier, but still perfect for the most formal occsions. Also included are finishing techniques, and the method and recipe for making royal icing. Some materials and royal icing are provided.
